I'm trying to follow theses instructions http://modthesims.info/t/71559 on building a textured transparent floor tile.
But when I get to the step below:



I can't open the floor tile I created. I get an error message:



What am I doing wrong?

I found the instructions quite confusing. It reads like you upload the image provided. I uploaded my own image of the tile I created it but couldn't get it transparent. I also tried to make mine transparent in photoshop without luck. I've given up and decided to download someone else's creation.

Edit: Finally figured out, thanks to instructions elsewhere, that I had to save the image as PNG.

I would delete this whole thread but am unable to, sorry.

The DXT tool ("Build DXT") is best used with PNGs, like you figured out.

DDS files can be imported directly via right-clicking the texture image in the plugin view ("Import DDS").
